Sports Festival

It's already December. Can you believe that the new year's coming soon?
Time flies.

We had a sports festival last month.
It wasn't like something big like a soccer or tennis game.
We just did running and throwing balls in a classroom.
Our students needed to use Japanese in the game and
they said it was rather hard^^;;;

1.Read Hiragana correctly!( and run )
 「ばぱ」「はば」「ぱは」や「しゃひゃ」「ぴゃちゃ」 and so on..

Photo

They definitely know it but can't say properly..
They think thye are saying it correctly but their partner doesn't understand..
Even intermediate students had a difficulty in the game;
THAT'S what we wanted!
For the teacher who made it, it was amusing.
'See??It's difficult,isn't it!?' ...........^^

2.Find our teachers!

This game is to find teachers in the various pictures.
I had a lot of fun to make these.
The people who are UNNATURALLY in the pictures are our teachers.
Ms.Pop from Thailand was surprisingly quick to find them.

3. Throw and Catch
This game was very simple but difficult.
They crumpled paper into balls and throw them into wastebaskets.
It was hard for the people who catch them with the baskets too.
They had to put the baskets on their backs.

After the game, we did 茶道 ' the tea ceremony'.
Photo
You say ‘お先にいただきます。’to the person sitting next to you.
It means..' Sorry for drinking before you.'
The tea for ceremony is very bitter.
PhotoMs.Pop from Thailand had a frown on her face^^
Some students and our principal tried making tea by themselves.
It seemed quite hard for them.
Just drinking tea someone made for you is the best thing, I guess^^

Ms.Cho from Taiwan and                                       our principal!

Japanese traditional green tea is great after all.
But for the students, what they cared the most was...the prize for the winners.
They are looking in the prize bag.
What's inside??You'll see....^^

A souvenir from Russia

It's getting cold here in Tokyo.
Some students caught a cold from the dryness and weather change.

Our principal went to Moscow in Russia the other day.
It seems to snow a lot there....He said it was hard to speak in the chill.
It's difficult to imagine such coldness for the people who grew up in Tokyo like me.
Well, he bought us a souvenir, anyway.
What comes to mind when you talk about Russian souvenirs???

This is it! istn't it??
 "Matryoshka"
Photo

He found Mtryoshka of Honda, the soccer player from Japan,
but since our teachers like cats he bought this.
It's very colorful and nice, isnt't it?

Open it!! then....

A little smaller cat appears.
And open it again...then...

☆The festival of Japanese schools☆

A student from our school joined a Kimono show in the afternoon.

She is Miss Lin from Taiwan^^
She said it's hot to wear Kimono@
To wear Kimono you need to wear a lot of underwear inside...;
PhotoPhoto

Several students appeared on stage in beautiful Kimono and were telling the audience
how they felt to wear Kimono in fluent Japanese.

Halloween party@

We had a Halloween party the other day.
Our students came to the school in the morning and changed into their costumes before class.
We had lessons in our costumes.☆★☆★
There were a bat, an angel and witch...
We finished the class a little early and made pumpkin cupcakes together.

We made the face parts with the pumkin peel.
They were all weaing serious expressions while they were making them.
Hopefully they try Kanji and Katakana test as hard!
After making the sweets, we had a scavenger hunt.
They looked for cards with sculls in the school.

One of them tried to hide a card to avoid the other team from finding it.....
After finishing the scavenger hunt , we had a quiz show!
They all did a great job!!
They were having problems writing countries in Katakana and something in Hiragana......why??
What are you doing at school everyday!!!
I'm glad they were having a good time together, anyway^^

Teachers looked frustrated because they wanted to give clues but they couldn't.....
The winners won a prize and the party ended^-^
I hope the next year's Halloween party will be even more fun and great^^!!
